80年にラフトレードから1st LPをリリースしている、UKウェールズの女性Vo NEW WAVE/POST PUNKトリオ。その唯一のLP『Colossal Youth』がリリース40周年を記念し、レア音源収録のLPとの2枚組、さらにDVDが付属した『Colossal Youth 40th Anniversary Edition』として〈Domino〉より再発。限定CLEAR VINYL EDITION。

本作には、アルバム『Colossal Youth』の他に、『Salad Days』、『Is The War Over』、『Final Day』、『Testcard EP』といった貴重なEPやコンピレーションの楽曲も収録。
さらに1980年にニューヨークで行われた貴重なアメリカ公演のライヴDVDが付属している。たった5日間でレコーディングされたという『Colossal Youth』はイギリスのシェフィールドからアメリカのシアトルに至るシーンに影響を与え、カート・コバーン、コートニー・ラヴ、ベル＆セバスチャン、デヴィッド・バーン、ソニック・ユース、マグネティック・フィールズといった音楽史における重要なアーティストやバンドが彼らのファンを公言している。
唯一無二の歌声、ギター、ベース、リズムボックス によって奏でられるミニマルなサウンドで構成された本作はヤング・マーブル・ジャイアンツにしか作り出せないサウンドであり、ポスト・パンク中でも最も重要なレコードの一つとして挙げられている。
